Goof United can confirm that club captain and founder James Goof sustained a facial injury during a training session after an accidental collision with a goalpost.

Following assessment by the club's medical staff, James is recovering well and has avoided any serious complications. As a precaution, he will wear a protective face mask for approximately the next five matches while the injury continues to heal.

James remains available for selection and is expected to continue leading the team on the pitch throughout his recovery.
